Sophia Green b. 1983 is a Mexican-American self-taught multidisciplinary artist. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and in Guadalajara, MX. She received a BFA from the University of Vermont and has an Associates degree in the culinary arts from the New School of Cooking.
Her concrete work is concerned with early development and familial domesticity and the work aims to rebuild primary foundations that transcend into more supreme and imaginary ones. The process is intuitive, aggregating and collecting organic material and found objects, mixing solely by hand — she aims to recreate otherworldly and outer spacial emotional landscapes and experiences speaking directly to the subconscious mind.
Sophia currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA and whole heartedly believes in the power of the moon.
